The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
GRATITUDE
I was reading this book this week…
(you can order directly from Amazon below or by clicking on book above)
What a cute book. I love reading anything Meg Cabot and have several of her books. Great light, funny reads.
The point is, though, that the main character, Mia (aka Amelia), writes down 3 things that she is grateful for in each journal entry.
So I thought I would take the challenge as well. I am going to spend the next 30 days taking note of the 3 things that I am grateful for each day.
Will you join me? You don’t have to blog it, as I am. Find a notebook, a journal, a chalkboard, anything in which you take the time to think of your three things. Maybe its not three?!?! Even if its just one!
What I have learned is that if you are positive, positive things happen. If you are negative, negative things happen. Thinking of things that you are grateful for, helps you to foster positive thoughts.
If you are up for the challenge, then be sure to carve out a few minutes in the morning to do so. It will help you start your day off right. Pour yourself a cup of coffee, some tea, water with lemon, or whatever it is you drink, first thing in the morning, and find a quiet spot. It should only take you a few minutes.
Join me over the course of the next 30 days. Let me know if you are joining, where you are writing each morning, what you are drinking, etc. Give me your plans.
Unless I am traveling, my plan, is to grab my cup of coffee and go sit out on the back porch. Once I have my list, I will blog it here.
My first day…
3 Things I am Grateful for…
1. Andreas, the father of my children and the man who takes care of me (which is a big job, btw). He is my rock and I learn something from him each and every day. Although I won’t lie, sometimes I want to drop kick him. Ha!
2. My children, Emma and Mattias, are truly amazing. They help me to stay young, to have patience and to be a better person. I would have never guessed I could love someone as much as I do them.
3. My blog. It is my creative outlet. While I haven’t been as active since my pregnancy with Mattias, it is my means to share some of that creativity.
I look forward to hearing from you. Leave your comment and let me know if you are joining me.
