12 Days of Christmas – Day 3
It’s been another one of those days…started off on the wrong foot. I have so many challenging things going on in my life that going through this activity daily should really help me get through it all.
I hope you have read the first couple of days, but reminder…I will focus on one of each of the following:
- Positive in my life
- My favorite things about Christmas
- A Christmas Design
- Pictures of my family
- Past Christmas post
Positive in my Life
My House! Once our home is complete, I will have to share the full story and all that we have gone through. Until then, let’s just say that it has not been a fun experience. Regardless of the experience, however, I truly am blessed to be able to build this house that will eventually be our home. It is beautiful! I cannot wait until it is done and we are past this to truly enjoy it.
One of my Favorite Things about Christmas
Advent Calendar! The Advent Calendar is a tradition that my mom started for my siblings and I when we were kids. I have been able to, year after year, share this tradition with Emma and now Mattias. I love it not only for the tradition itself, but because it excites the kids….gets them excited about Christmas…gives them something to look forward to every day. If you are not familiar with what an Advent Calendar is, CLICK HERE FOR SOME HISTORY and/or check out the WIKIPEDIA DESCRIPTION. While we do have a chocolate filled one, we also have one that is filled with small presents from Saint Nicholas.
You can see that the Elves (above) flew back last night and decided to hang out here.
A Christmas Design
Santa Claus!! I love all things Christmas, but I do love a good collection of Santa Clauses. Whether they are wall designs, life size like, small statues, on pillows, stuffed or made of wood, it is fun to see the many interpretations of him.
Picture of my Family
My all time favorite Family Pic thus far!! This one is from last year. I love it because you can see everyone’s personality.
Past Christmas Post
DIY A Christmas Card Display!! Last year I made a couple of these for gifts. A card display is a great way to display your cards in one place. And…you can use any fabric design, be it burlap, a clean red or white fabric, or one that has a design such as the one below. Learn how to make your own. It’s so easy!
Again…I do feel so much better after taking time to go through this activity. You don’t have to go through the effort of thinking about, writing down or typing out all of the above at all. You can pick and choose or even think of your own. The end result should be the same…Be Thankful and You will be Positive! – Denise Murtha
