Gratitude Challenge Day 13
Since I opened up the other day I thought I would update you. Every day seems to be better. I still haven’t tackled some of the hard things, but I am getting there.
As part of getting out of this slump, I have dedicated…
Me Time.
Even if only for a few minutes. In the mornings after I run, at some point, I make a cup of coffee and sit outside on my back porch. I either journal or I pray. And I think of things that I am grateful for.
Me Time is important.
Over at SparkPeople.com, as part of their Article, 8 Ways to Put Yourself on Your Priority List, they say that “Me” time allows us to de-stress, unwind and rejuvenate. Taking time for yourself allows you to renew, heal, and create reserves of energy and peace.
In A Woman’s Guide to ‘Me’ Time by WebMD, the state that recent research has shown that women today are less happy than they have been over the past 40 years. There are many theories about why, but lack of free time can be a major reason.
Important is to just make time for yourself. Whether it’s spontaneous or planned, a few minutes or a day (or anything in between), doing something for yourself will re-energize you and help you focus.
For those of you who don’t know how to make the time, Lifehack has some great tips on How to Find Time for Yourself.
Me? My cup of coffee on my back porch is a good start. But I also run in the mornings. That could be considered Me Time. And I can add a few more things in, here and there, as needed.
What are you doing for your Me Time?!?!
3 Things that I am Grateful for…
1. Me Time. It becomes more and more valuable as I am more busy.
2. That I know how to take Me Time so if I need more, I can attempt to adjust (easier said than done…as we all know).
3. My job! I can only take a few minutes of Me Time because I don’t have to fight the traffic for an hour to an hour and a half both ways to get to and from work.
