Gratitude Challenge Day 3
The Traditional Career
As most of you know, blogging is not my full-time job. I do have a career that I have had for a long time….software sales. I have always been in some sort of sales or customer centric role. My first job out of college (yes…I know… a long time ago) was as a manager at Bath and Body Works. From there I have done long distance, uniform, pharma and then software sales. I may have missed an industry or two somewhere in there, but regardless…been doing this for a long time.
Most days I love my job. But like most of you, I am sure, there are days when I think…Why am I here?
If I am being honest, I am tired of the stress and the travel. But I do make good money, love the people I work with and drink the Kool-aid. I really think we have good products. And! I love my customers, who with some, have turned into friends.
So on the days that I have to get up at 2am to leave the house at 3am to make a 5am flight, I have to remind myself how grateful I am.
The 3 Traditional Career things that I am Grateful for…
1. The ability to make good money. There isn’t anything that I think I could do in which I could make as much money as I do today.
2. The products, as they are considered to be included in the top 4 competitors in this space. I do think we have great solutions which makes it easier to sell.
3. The friends that were originally colleagues or customers.
And because I can’t leave off this one (I will then have 4 instead of 3)…
4. Colleagues who truly value family and each of individually. With both my pregnancy complications, my teams were all so supportive. Blessed to work with people who care.
