Yesterday I posted the DIY Dry Erase Tutorial.
Today, as promised, I am providing you the DIY Vision Board Tutorial.
As I created my goals and chose my One Little Word for the year, I wanted to make sure I had a place to visualize as a daily reminder. Hence why I created a Vision Board.
What is a Vision Board you ask? Here is a search link to give you more information, but it is really a board to help you see your goals, be reminded of them and learn to take them on as they are already yours.
If you can Visualize it, you can Achieve it. -Denise Murtha 🙂
As I was searching for the materials needed, I came across this fabulous fabric which will be my inspiration for my office re-model.
My office design is a whole ‘nother topic. I have been wanting to re-model it for quite some time, as it is the most boring space I have. And I work in it every day! Well…when I am not traveling or have to go into the office. But I think I have finally found my motivation.
I am on a mission now.
However, my remodel, that hasn’t even started, is not the reason why you are reading. It is because I was going to share with you how to create your own Vision Board.
If you plan on doing both the Dry Erase and the Vision Board, you will want to purchase the tools needed, at one time to ensure that you have uniformity.
The materials you will need for both the Dry Erase and Vision Board are:
- 2 Frames with Glass – sizes to fit your available wall space
- Paint – to match your color scheme
- Paint brushes
- Cork Board
- Fabric for Cork Board – enough to fully cover – choose one that fits both in your design and color scheme
- Scissors
- Spray Adhesive
- Staple Gun
For the Vision Board specifically, you will need:
- One of the Frames above
- Cork Board above
- Fabric
- Staple Gun
- Spray Adhesive
- Scissors (not pictured above)
Cut the fabric so as to give you enough to fold over to secure on the backside….about an inch or so more on each side.
Spray the cork with the adhesive.
Lay the fabric on the cork and smooth out. Then flip over and staple the fabric to the cork board to secure firmly.
The corners can be a bit challenging so I would
- Staple both sides until you
- Reach the corner
- Lay the corners down as you are wrapping a gift and staple
All you have left to do is to insert the covered cork into the frame and there you have it!
Be sure to make sure that they have the proper hardware to hang without frustration and for simplicity. If they don’t, I would attach something like these Steel Sawtooth Ring Hangers.
Hope you found this tutorial helpful.
I will post more about my One Little Word and how I create my Vision Board in a later post.
In the meantime, have you stopped by Share it Sunday yet to link up your Favorite Posts or to Peruse the Links for Inspiration?
If not, stop by now for the party!

Thank you so much Alicia. I really appreciate it. My goal is to get it filled…or at least start…this weekend. 🙂
