Taking pictures is always fun during the holidays…even if only using your own camera.
So, of course, you want to make sure that your children are dressed well enough that later, you won’t look back and think…Oh My Gosh…what were they wearing?
For most of us…Thanksgiving is much more laid back than Christmas. We aren’t running to and from church or from event to event. Thanksgiving tends to be more of a…Let’s Eat…and then Watch TV, play games, go shopping or whatever it is that you normally do during the Turkey Day Weekend.
So as such, our attire is usually not as formal.
While you can dress your children in Thanksgiving attire from some fabulous designers such as Persnickety (I have ordered this one for Christmas).
You can also have a little bit more fun. Last year I made Emma these pants. My wonderful friend, Dana from Haute and Modern Monogramming, made her shirt.
And I know…my pictures are not as beautiful as the one of the Persnickety outfit. Sorry!
This year I bought these pants and screen print shirt from a great shop in Tomball called The Turquoise Door. However, the set is a design by Kate Elizabeth Design.
And then randomly, you can also just find a great shirt, again monogrammed by Dana from Haute and Modern, and pair with a pair of jeans.
The key is to accessorize. As you can see with Emma, she has her bows and her necklace by Melody Doty Jewels to complete the look in each of these pictures.
Although shoes would have really finished it off. Take what you can get!!! Funny though…in each of these pics..almost the same head tilt.
If you look back at the Persnickety picture, the accessories include a hat, boots and the socks. You have a lot of choices to compliment a design.
To find designs similar to these, shop on Etsy, find a local monogramming business such as Haute and Modern, find local designs such as Kate Elizabeth Design and/or buy your own pattern ad make them yourself.
BTW…while Boutiques, such as The Turquoise Door, tend to scare most away due to the higher costs associated with them, you will often find some great things such as the screen print shirt and pants to match! You would be surprised what you come across!
So now that you have some great ideas, send me some pictures and share what your children are wearing for Thanksgiving!! I can’t wait to see!
