Since I receive so many compliments regarding my Wall of Clocks…I thought I would highlight them in a post to potentially inspire you to do your own.
Let me tell you first why I even created the Wall Design.
First Reason
Three years ago I flew all over the country. In one week I could be in 3 different time zones. I thought it would be great to have a place to reference what time it was, no matter where I was that day.
Like Emma could tell time then?!?!
Second Reason
Emma’s Oma (German grandmother) and Opa (German grandfather) live in Germany, another time zone and I thought it would be good to always know what time it was there for them.
Third Reason
I have always wanted a wall with Clocks…although I would have never guessed I would have so many clocks in the design. My original design definitely had fewer…in my head.
Before I bought a clock, I made sure that I thought about the layout.
I knew I wanted each time zone to be represented.
I also knew that I wanted a clock for Oma and Grandma (in Alabama).
And of course, I wanted it all to be balanced.
My first purchase was the Home clock. It needed to be the anchor, the main one.
It took me awhile (months) to find each of the others that were to be positioned around the Center or Main one. I wanted ones that were unique, with each of them being different.
As I already had the layout, I added each of them as they were purchased.
Once I had all the clocks on the wall, it was time to order the Vinyl. I wish I could say I printed the vinyl myself, but I did not! I am thinking though that such a machine is definitely in my near future.
I needed the time zones, Oma and GMA (short for grandma) and Home.
I also wanted something to tie it all in and balance the design.
This project was a work in progress. It definitely took time and looked a bit weird with my purchase and additions here and there.
But I love the results!
Voila!
