It was fun to meet other bloggers who are active on Blogtalk this past Saturday at the Round Top Antique Show that happens twice a year…Fall and Spring.
We met bright and early in the morning at Coles, where there was free parking. Because YES…there was also paid parking! They are not playing around here!
Our group, at 9am, included:
- Lisa from the Pennington Point
- Julie from Lilacs and Longhorns
- Randi from Dukes and Duchesses
I specify 9am because I could not stay to meet up again at lunch. There were 2-4 others expected so I must have missed them!! Boo!!
Why was I not able to meet for lunch? Because my dear, sweet Emma had a soccer game. So it was time to shop as fast as I could. Ha!
It was evident that I did not attend these types of events, Antique Fairs, as I did not have a nifty basket (that rolled…mind you) like the other women did. I wish I would have taken a picture of one of theirs. Lisa from the Pennington Point had a snazzy one in which she made her own liner. If I can get her to send me a picture, I will edit and include here for you.
Randi from Dukes and Duchesses did bring fabulous bags
But my items that I purchased would not fit. Thankfully Julie from Lilacs and Longhorns allowed me to shop with her as she was so kind as to wheel my stuff around as well!
It was HUGE!!! Went on for miles. With a billion (ok…not a billion, but sure seemed like it) vendors. There was everything from what I would have called true JUNK to fabulous re/up-cycled pieces.
I wish I would have taken more of the funny finds. Here is one for you:
BTW…inside the bed pan is just rust. Who would have wanted to buy this though, rust or not?!?!? Insane! Ha!
Instead, I found something that I have been searching for months.
The challenge that we were all tasked with was to find something that we could re/up-cycle and post about the process or the end results.
I cannot wait to see what I can do with these. I have some ideas in mind, but we shall see if it will actually work as I want.
Stay tuned!
I look forward to reading about each of their experiences. Once they have, I will edit and include links below. Thanks!

I am only slightly, ok really really, jealous. Going to Round Top is now on my bucket list, even though I haven’t thought of it that way in the past. I’m so happy you got to go and experience everything!
