I was sitting in first class…yes first class…to Vegas last week and ended up talking to the gentleman sitting next to me. Interesting conversation. I learned something interesting that I didn’t know about Las Vegas.
First…have you been to Vegas lately? I stayed in the Cosmopolitan which is only a couple of years old.
So many things had changed since the last time I had been there, I didn’t even recognize the strip. All this new stuff?!?!? How much money is spent to build the new casinos, roller coasters, etc?!?!
Well! Did you know?!?! Most of the Casinos are in debt?!?!? Learned this from the conversation on the plane.
And we aren’t talking just a little debt, but A LOT of debt.
Last year, USA Today printed that Ceasar’s was $22 Billion dollar in debt.
MGM…13.6 Million in debt.
Insane!!!!
But would we go and visit Las Vegas and walk away saying we had a good time if it weren’t all glitz and glamour and NEW each time!??! Absolutely not!
So who really cares that they are in debt!??! Not me and I am sure…not you!!
There are so many fabulous things to do in Vegas. Most of which you are probably familiar with but can’t go without saying…
Light Show at the Bellagio (Fountains)
Entertainment Shows (Cirque Du Soleil)
The Strip
And all the Shopping Venues
So next time you go to Las Vegas, take in not only the images that are overstimulating, but also note the amount of money that it takes to run such a city.
