The secret ingredient recipe…
Wait for it! Wait for it! Wait for it!! Here it comes…Vlasic Zesty Bread and Butter Chips!!!!
Now what the heck would I even be making with Zesty Bread and Butter Chips you ask? Well…Potato Salad of course!??!
I have had quite a few different potato salads. And I can appreciate and like almost any type: mayonnaise, mustard, hot, cold, oil and vinegar based, with eggs, without…and the list goes on.
And we eat a lot of potato salad in this house. I would say that I have always eaten potato salad regularly. Whats regularly? Mostly when grillin’ as a side item, but definitely a key side item throughout the year. I am going to share with you an easy recipe that I think is pretty darn fabulous.
Now remember…this blog is not about recipes. So while I can cook and am going to give you the recipe (as I have a couple others and will probably continue to highlight every now and then), it will, unfortunately, not be an exact science with accurate measurements. So that just means…you gotta just cook based on your taste. But YOU CAN DO IT!!! I have faith in ya. So get your ingredients together, make it and tell me how it turns out.
Ingredients:
- Boiled Potatoes – I count the number of potatoes per person – tonight 6 adults = 10 potatoes (2 of us are women and only eat 1 each)
- Hard Boiled Eggs – I usually always put in about 5 eggs – but you could choose not to put any if you like
- Jar of Vlasic Zesty Bread and Butter Chips
- Salt
- Pepper
- Celery Salt
- Onions – I prefer red ones but you can use any type
How to make:
- Allow the potatoes and eggs to cool
- Dice half a jar of the bread and butter chips – you may want to use less – dependent on your taste buds
- Dice half an onion – more or less –
- Cut the potatoes – I usually cut them in 3’s and then cube them, but you can slice, dice, cube…
- Slice the eggs – I use an egg slicer…much easier
- Combine the above ingredients: potatoes, eggs, onions and pickles
- Add half the jar of the Bread and Butter Chip Juice (aka vinegar)
- Season with salt, pepper and celery salt
- Let stand and allow the vinegar (juice from the pickles) to absorb into the potatoes
And there you go!!! Its done!! Yum! Thats whats on the menu for us tonight!! Along with some ribs and a few other items.
Hope you enjoy as much as we will.
