Welcome to SA1969
That is exactly how I felt at Southern Accents Architectural Antiques last week…WELCOME! Not only did they make me feel at home as I toured their store, barn, etc, but they filled me with such inspiration.
My house is really a hodge podge of design styles. I like the clean simple lines. Everything has to have balance and symmetry (although I am really trying to break away from that as you can see in the picture below):
But additionally, I like light walls, floors and countertops and like to fill in the rest with lots of color. And my colors are definitely bold with deep reds, dark browns and pops of turquoise.
I just recently have started to introduce other elements to my design to give it more depth such as this brushed bronze:
And natural wood:
And recently, as I have been looking at new pieces to fill other empty spots (or that I have filled with something else temporarily…until I can find the right piece), I have gravitated to more of the antique look.
So walking into Southern Accents Architectural Antiques I was not surprised at all at how much I loved the antique architectural elements. And mind you…I am not a history buff and do not enjoy walking through a museum, in the least. Or I haven’t!?!?!? Maybe my interests are changing?!?!?! Hmmm…
I know everyone likes a blog with more pictures than text. But starting next Sunday, being called S’Editorial Sundays (The S is supposed to slang for “It’s”…just in case you were wondering), I will spend some time highlighting Southern Accents so be sure to take make some tea, pour yourself a cup of coffee or simply fill your wine glass and visit me here as I take you on a journey through SA1969. Look forward to sharing then.
