I want to thank everyone, thus far, for hanging in there with me as I am learning this blogging thang. 🙂 I have made quite a few mistakes…like yesterday. I started a live blog, wanted to change the title, couldn’t hit it right, and accidentally sent an incomplete post that just filled your inbox with nothing valuable. Darn iphone. Gotta blame someone, right (my filler word)? 🙂 But, I guess, it takes time and a mistake is a mistake. Learn from it and move on.
But even with the slight mistake, yesterday was a fabulous event for me. I will edit the post and get it on the blog as soon as I can. There will be more to come for sure. Watch out for my first real editorial from the experience with some great pics and new ideas that stemmed from it.
But this post is not about yesterday. It is really to evaluate whether I am doing the right thing…whether this blog is worth it….whether its adding any value.
I can see where blogging could be a full-time job…a career. I also hear the people asking, “how does Denise really have time to do all this?”
Well…my full-time job is my revenue generator. That is where I can make the money. And, for the most part, I do love my job. Now I really like the people more. but I do love what I do. I love to sell. I love to get out in front of the customers. I like the money I make doing it. While I could get just as much out of the blog from a personal or professional experience, I can’t financially.
And where do I find the time? I just make it. Its very much like the saying…”If you want to do something, you will find the time to do it”. I have been talking about working out for months and that I just don’t have time. If I am being honest, I don’t make the time. I could carve it out and just go do it, but I don’t. With the blogging, I do make the time. My family may not love that I spend a little extra time in the evenings working on the computer (or on the weekend), but I think they see the excitement that it brings. So I MAKE the time!
And I am loving the content. I try to mix it up some with posts that are:
- DIY
- Reblogs
- Heath and Beauty
- Recipes
- Design
- Style
- With lots of pictures
- With little pictures
- Long and short posts
You name it…I try to add it in there…so that it is interesting and worth reading. BECAUSE…if I am honest…I have become addicted to reviewing the stats. So my next scheduled post, or the content is all relative to the stats from the last posts. I love to see that something has been interesting enough for you to view.
And…man…this blog has given me some new excitement. It has allowed me to use the creativity that there isn’t much use for in sales. But on the other side, I have become more creative in my sales strategy. How? By thinking about new processes or practices to implement, by looking at an issue and determining how to improve it. So the results from this blog have fueled me in other areas for sure.
My evaluation of the blogging experience, the content, the results are that I really do love it. I think its enough for me to continue. So thank you for taking an interest. Hopefully you will see the blog itself, the content and the improvement of it all as it evolves.
Your challenge is to figure out whether you need something to spark some new energy and excitement as this blog has for me. It could come from working out, taking more time to do the one thing you miss doing the most, or figuring out some new project at work to take on. Whatever it is…is there something that you could be doing to improve the quality of your life? If there is…the real challenge is to figure out what that is and take the time to JUST DO IT!! Life is short and it is what we make it. And the ‘ol saying…we never know what tomorrow will bring…is true. JUST DO IT!!!
