Dead or Alive?

By: denise designed

With this crazy weather going on…one day you think its beautiful enough that you can plant your vegetable garden and the next day its freezing cold and you are worrying whether your plants are going to die or not.

My poor basil got hit hard.  At first I had no idea why it was so brown.  And I thought…geez…I am going to have to throw it away.

Is it dead or alive?

Immediately I went online and realized that it was the cold that had affected it so drastically.  Guess what I also found out?!?!  That I didn’t have to throw it away.  That all I had to do was cut all the brown parts off and it would re-grow.

So of course, that is exactly what I did.

I did, however, have to plant new basil because I am such an immediate needs person and I wanted my basil now…not later.  Ha!  Now I will just have a lot of it.  🙂

Your challenge...next time you see a plant that looks as though it is dying, try to nurture it a bit.  Cut off the affected areas and ensure it has the proper amount of water and sunlight.  You will be surprised.
