Seriously…you can now right on the wall or anywhere else that you so desire. Where? What? How? See below. Chalk it UP!!!
I painted the kitchen pantry door with the top half being for my travel schedule. This is a spot that Andreas looks at every day so hopefully he doesn’t have to ask a billion times what time my flight gets in. 🙂 Emma gets the bottom half to do what she wants…draw a picture, practice the letter of the day or just scribble (as you can see in this pic).
I received this Menu Easel as a gift, added the letters and there you go…a place to write the weekly menu. And while this picture doesn’t show it…we do actually use the easel often. Just had to clean off because my handwriting was a bit funky this week. It is hard writing at such an angle (doesn’t close to lay flat).
I don’t remember where I bought these canisters, but I bought some chalk paint and painted the squares so that I could use chalk to label the contents of the week. Yes…I do switch out contents because I can never figure out what I want to store here.
But there is so much more you can do. Paint an entire wall. Paint just a section of the wall. Paint a tray and use it as a message center. Buy a frame and paint the inside to write quotes and change regularly. I will leave you with some other great ideas below. But before I go…
Your challenge is to see if you can find one spot where chalkboard paint makes sense. Go ahead…just do it!!! 🙂

Wow – I didn’t even know such a thing existed! I just might have to chalk paint my pantry door too! 🙂

You should Livia. I even have some paint you can borrow. 🙂

Many years ago I inherited a mustard yellow refrigerator (freezer on top style). I was happy to have it as I was on a VERY limited budget but it was truly horrid! I painted the front in chalkboard paint. My grocery list and reminders went on the top half and my daughter was able to draw on the bottom half (and those little magnetic letters would stick as well) keeping her busy while I made dinner. It turned from an eyesore to a really unique addition to my kitchen!

Susan…I would love to see a picture and share it here, if you can dig one up!!! Sounds like it was fabulous. And for those that don’t want to get rid of a refrigerator, or a piece of furniture….a great way to re-purpose!!

I love chalkboard surfaces! I really like how you painted your pantry door. What a neat idea! I like the football schedule, too. Too bad painting my mantle would be tacky because that would be the perfect place for the schedule! (Hopefully my husband won’t read this and get any ideas!

Ha! I hope then he is not reading. 🙂 The pantry door is really useful too. So it not only adds character, but it truly does get used. Good luck. You will have to share pics if you do add a chalk space anywhere!
